Faith Trolley Preschool FAQ's
We are thrilled to offer care for children ages 18 months through age 5.
Teachers and staff at Faith Trolley Preschool have all gone through a background check prior to employment, are CPR/First Aid certified, and are fully qualified to teach at a preschool level per California Community Care Licensing.
Unfortunately, we do not offer drop-in care!
Unfortunately, we do not. However, we are happy to recommend our neighbors, the Boys & Girls Club of Santee.
We use the Procare system for billing and communication, and offer three billing options for your convenience. Weekly billing, which is billed on Monday of each week (or Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday), Monthly, which is billed on or around the 1st of the month (depending on if the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday), and Monthly billing with automatic payments.
Regardless of which you choose, tuition always works out to be the same cost each month!
Yes! We serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. We have an in-house chef who makes each meal, and she is wonderful about incorporating "hidden" vegetables where she can! Fruit/vegetables and milk are served with every meal, and afternoon snack is always two food groups.
The menu rotates monthly and can be found on our website, as well as in the monthly newsletter we send to families, and on our parent bulletin board outside of the office.
We've included wipes within the cost of our toddler/non-potty trained tuition rates! However, you are required to provide your own diapers. When your child is running low, their teacher will notify you, and we ask that you bring them within twenty-four hours of the notification so your child does not run out.
While we do not fully potty train your child, we work with every child and their family throughout their potty training journey. Because most potty training happens between the ages of 2-to-3 years old, our Brown Bear classroom has an attached bathroom, and our teachers are trained to look for cues indicating that your child may need to go potty, as well as offering them frequent opportunities and reminders, encouraging them to listen to their body and to tell a teacher when they need to go.
The best way to communicate with your child's teachers and the office is by sending a message in Procare. Rest assured, when you send a message through Procare it is only sent to your child's teacher(s) and the office. Other parents and staff members do not have access to these messages. If you prefer not to use the app's messaging system, you are also welcome to send an email to preschool@faithtrolleypreschool.com and we will make sure it is relayed to the appropriate care provider.
We operate our preschool with the Procare system which not only handles billing, but communication, too! Our teachers do their best to add photos to your child's profile throughout the day, as they are able to. However, there may be times were you do not receive updates, or the update may not be in "real time", and this is because while your child is in our care, they are our number one priority, and our teachers are expected to utilize their phones as minimally as possible. That being said, when updates are provided, it is typically done on a downtime, such as during nap time or while a co-teacher or floater teacher is tending to the children, so that another may provide an update.
All students who stay for nap are required to have their own crib-sized sheet and a lightweight blanket (small enough to fit in a cubby).
Additionally, if your child requires a sleep comfort, such as a pacifier or a small stuffed animal, they may bring them and keep them in their cubby to use at nap time.
Sleep Sacks and pillows are not permitted.
Yes! Please let us know as soon as you are able that your child will not be attending on their regularly scheduled day, as we need to account for their absence in our meal preparations.
Additionally, if your child has a highly contagious illness, please let us know, as we may need to send an exposure notice to let other families know. Rest assured, exposure notices never mention a child's name.
Contagious illnesses include but are not limited to:
- Hand Foot and Mouth Disease
- Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
-Head Lice
-Strep Throat
-Fifths Disease
Full tuition is due regardless of how many days your child will be in attendance. There are two breaks per year in which we prorate your tuition, which are the week we are closed in August for teacher in-service, and the break between Christmas and New Year. You will see these closures reflected in your August, December, and January billing cycles.
If you are going out of town or your child will be absent due to illness or any other reason, please let us know so we may inform their teachers, as well as have accurate mealtime counts.
A late fee occurs if your tuition is not paid in a timely matter. Please see our parent handbook for monthly and weekly billing due dates and all applicable late fees.
If your account becomes two weeks past due, your child will be unable to attend preschool until you have paid in full. If this happens more than once, your child will be unenrolled from the program. Re-enrollment will be subject to availability.
If you feel you may forget to pay your tuition, we highly recommend enrolling in our monthly auto-pay option to ensure you never are late, and never pay a late fee!
We charge $1 per minute you are late past your pick up time for our half-day pick up, and our 3/4 day pick up. If you are late to our full day, 5:30 pick up, we charge $2 per minute as the school closes at 5:30PM.
Please see our parent handbook for more information on late pick ups.
